Mrs. Thompson obtained her ADN (84) and BSN (93) at Eastern Kentucky University and her MSN in Adult Health (1996) at the University of Kentucky. In 2016, she returned to the University of Kentucky and completed her Post-Masters Certificate and currently practices as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-BC, APRN. Her specialty area is Trauma Informed Care with a background in Integrative Health. She has her own private practice, Hope Said Psychiatry, LLC, in Springfield, Ky where she resides with her husband and son. They have a small hobby farm with 4 horses. Besides her other clinical experience, she is a trained Chaplain and worked several years in Florida, as a Faith Community Nurse for a large protestant church-incorporating mind/body/faith wellness into a church setting and was part of the pastoral care team. She is a member of the Kentucky Nurses Association, Rotary International, and likes being a part of serving her community.   She strongly believes in being a patient advocate and that the role of caring/being with a person is just as important as fixing/curing a person. Her current passions are reading both the old and new testament and writing about her life experiences.
